Excursion to Nandi Hills

After coming back from U.S tour, life as been pretty hectic, both on personnel as well as professional... Had a visit to Kukke Subramanya with my family during the mid of Oct.... followed by small visits to my native village and some other places around.

Almost, over 2 weeks or so... i was been traveling in around Bangalore due to one or the other reason. Few things got into my mind.... its been while that i did explored outside Karnataka all during my Bachelor days... thought of giving it a shot to look around Bangalore. Then finally came up with Nandi Hills. Its been 8 yrs for me staying in b'lore.... n i've heard many times abt the Nandi Hills.... dont know.. why it took me so long ti visit this b'ful place much away from the daily noise of b'lore city. Myself n Wife decided to explore in n around b'lore. What best you'll get, that to in winter season, we decided to leave on a Saturday weekend (08/11). To make the picnic distressful, we decided to leave bit early say 6 or atleast by 6.30 morning.

With all the things packed and with my Swift Car, we left our home by 6.15. It was excellent to drive early morning with no traffic. By the time we hit the Airport road, we're engrossed in the early winter mornings of b'lore. After crossing the Hebbal flyover, what we saw was one of the best views of Bangalore. The whole city was covered in dense fog. Further driving and crossing the new airport, the visibility on the road was so poor, we can hardly see 100ft or max... of 200 ft. We did enjoyed the driving, my wife being getting bit tense. That was just the fear or some kind of anxiety. We did saw few people who were also going to Nandi hills. This was my first visit on NH-7, so i didn't knew much abt the turns and crossing. Some how, i missed the Nandi cross (which was covered under fog and also due to the flyover construction). We did crossed and went a little bit and reached Chikkaballapur. Anyhow, we had our breakfast there and checking with the locals, we started again back and headed towards Nandi hills. Few of my friends did told me that the approach road being bit worst and also, be careful abt the ghats. I felt, road was pretty much good (as per karnataka road conditions). By the time we reached Nandi hills, it was ard 9.00 a.m. After parking the vehicle, we went to see beauty of Nandi hills and other attractions like Tippu drop, Yogimaheshwar temple, and many other things. I thought, trekking would be bit trouble, but i can say, it can be counted as a easy one. After reaching the point, just sat down there and was watching sky or the other hills. It was so amazing, no noise,,, no honking.... it was as calm as it can get. After walking for 2 hrs or so... we hit back the road to b'lore.... followed by a lunch @ Samarkand (my fav... dining place in b'lore and visiting it almost close to 3 yrs)

I can say, its a pretty good thing to go out of b'lore once or twice in a month n explore the nature at its best.
